TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK.
On the east bank of Lake Manyara, Tarangire River crosses the park
from north to south. Several circuits are possible.
Burungi to the west (80km), Lake Lamarkou to the south (150kms),
matete along the river (60 km). Acacia trees and baobab forests
shelter animals seeking refuge near the river.
Best Time: From June to November.
How To Get There: From Arusha, 2 hour or 45 min charter flight.
To Do: Visit village and Maasai market. On the road to Arusha,
stop by the local.
Craft Shop: Jewellery, spears and canes. A night safari in
Tarangire.
Do Not Miss: In Manyara, the hippo pool to observe the ballet
of birds and animals who come to drink. The hot springs "Maji Moto"
and further south the panoramic views of the lakes and the Endabash
river.
