Selous Game Reserve
The largest African reserve is crossed by the Rufiji River and its
tributaries which form a network of lakes ideal for boat safaris.
Wildlife observation and bird watching (350 catalogued species) take
place in superb natural setting.
Respecting nature's rhythm, you can be assured of close contact with
the wildlife.
Best Time: June to February. The lodges are usually closed from March
to the end of May.
How To Get There: From Dar es Salaam, 7 hour drive or a 35 minute
charter flight.
To Do: Walking safaris. trip to Stiegler's Gorge where Rufiji and
Ruaha rivers meet. fishing trip on the Tagalala lake.
Do Not Miss: Wait patiently by the water -holes and you will be
rewarded by the herds of elephants and buffaloes and pride of lion.
Appreciate the sunset against beautiful landscapes. Sit back and
enjoy a "safari" the local beer.
