Chumbe Island Coral Park is one of the
first privately managed marine parks in Zanzibar. The project is
dedicated to conservation of the marine and terrestrial
biodiversity.
The park manages an inclusive accommodation services
for its clients, it undertakes educational programmes, renders
services to researchers and filming groups. Part of the revenue is
spent for the managing of the park. Its educational programmes
increase the conservation awareness among the fishing community,
colleges and schools.
These programmes convert the would be
deterrent fishermen in to environment friendly.
As a result of the
project Chumbe is currently unique for its richness in coral reef.
Rooms are self-contained with hot and cold water shower,
equipped with handmade furniture, decorated with African art and
colorful fabrics.

The island is some 800
metres long and 200 metres wide and is surrounded by small coves
with white sandy beaches and coral reefs. The thick tropical
vegetation of baobabs, palm trees and passion fruits, harbors a
small historic graveyard and rich wild-life including a herd of
indigenous Duiker Chapwani (miniature antelopes).
Chapwani Private Island is the perfect spot for those seeking a
small quiet lodge with good food on a beautiful peaceful beach with
Stone Town and all its facilities just 10 minutes away by boat.
There are only 5 bandas with a total of 10 rooms’ right on the
beach. The rooms are not large but are very comfortable, with a
spacious bathroom and separate toilet. They are decorated with
colorful African prints and furnished with traditional local
furniture and four poster beds.
The restaurant on the water's edge provides a unique blend of
Oriental, African and European cuisine using local ingredients fresh
from the market.
For much of the day the island is excellent for swimming and when
the tide goes out you can explore the life on the coral reef and the
neighboring islands.
At night Stone town, with its 40 mosques is a show of colors, lights
and distant sounds.
The size of the island, the few guests (maximum 20) and the choice
of small coves means that each person can find total privacy.

Prison Island is a place
for nature lovers.
Home to the undisturbed tortoise sanctuary, surrounded by the
pristine waters of the Indian Ocean, and with the 19th century’
buildings that have been artfully restored, the island is a natural
treasure at which options are many, for activities but, as well to
decide to relax: for centuries, Prison Island has been specially
recommended for bathing and sun tanning and exposed to cool breeze.
The place is stylish, smart and exclusively elegant; with its
delicious fresh water swimming pool and a floodlit tennis court
inside the dense forest that covers the heart of the island.
The tropical forest is ideal for nature trails, with different flora
and fauna, home of the Giant Aldabra Tortoises, that inhabit the
island for the last 80 years, and that make the island one of the
most important attractions in Zanzibar.
Prison Island offers two room categories, all in close proximity to
the sea.15 exclusive deluxe cottages are located in the north-west
side of the island, discretely distributed along the sea-line,
affording maximum privacy and seclusion.
The cottages are built in local materials and topped with
traditional thatched roofs, achieving cool atmosphere day and night.
The spacious interiors are elegantly decorated and equipped with
mosquito nets and ensuite bathrooms, all with 2 al fresco showers
and bathtub.
The private outdoor verandas face out to the sea, maximizing the
views and sounds of the Ocean.
In the south-west side of the island, the former Quarantine Area
built in 1931 has been converted into 12 elegant standard sea facing
rooms that afford the most fantastic views of Stone Town, all of
them ensuite with shower equipments and mosquito nets.

The island elegantly lies
5 miles off Zanzibar Stone Town, 30 minutes boat drive. Arrival at
Bawe is something truly an unforgettable experience; a spectacular
private lost corner of the world is very elementary with no
televisions, simplicity, anonymity and freedom are the determining
factors for the guests.
The resort is so quiet and discrete; you will think of it as your
own private paradise; the beach belongs just to you and the ghost
crabs. If you like romantic unspoiled beaches… Bawe is the place, a

Its 15 magnificent
cottages for 30 guests only are discretely scattered along the beach
line, all of them with panoramic views of the clear waters of the

bars for all types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. A big

The island is a tiny secret world of linen white
sands, giant turtles and magenta sunsets. Cast away in this
paradise, where just ten palm woven Banda Cottages accommodate the
fortunate few. Hidden in the dappled shade of tropical foliage, each
beachfront banda comprises an ensuite bathroom and private verandah.
A stone's throw away is the dazzling beach, whose waters teem with
exotically colored fish and coral forests.
These are some of the most spacious and airy
bandas on Zanzibar with extra wide double beds, high-pitched roofs
with front sit-out and day beds. There is an open wardrobe, some
shelves, a safe-box and bedside tables, all made from natural
materials and perfectly in keeping with the simple Robinson-Crusoe
style. A ceiling fan and mosquito nets make for a cool and peaceful
night's sleep. Every room has its own bathroom set in the woods with
a hefty shower and porcelain hand basin.
Each room has its own spacious veranda that is
hidden in the shade of the tropical beach forest, and a private
pathway onto a secluded area of the dream inspiring coral sand
beach. Verandas are constructed with built-in barazas, (perfect for
afternoon siestas), comfortable chairs for reading and a writing
table. There are also outdoor swing beds, and private, shady beach
salas with simple Zanzibari loungers.
Thatched dining and bar areas have been constructed with
conscientious awareness of place, curving along the beach to make
the most of breathtaking sea views and spectacular coral reefs
beyond.
